Exfoliate your skin before your spray tan application for smooth skin and even tanning results.
Spend a little extra time on knees, elbows, feet and hands. Exfoliate at least once a week to maintain, smooth healthy-looking skin.
Shave at least 8 hours before your spray tan session.
It is best to wait 24 hours after waxing prior to sunless tanning.
Do NOT moisturize skin within 2 hours prior to your spray tan application, as lotions can create a barrier, preventing the absorption of tanning solution or lotions.
Do not use deodorant before you spray tan.
Remove makeup prior to spray tan for best results.
Make sure to wear dark loose fitted clothing for right after your tan.
Please come with your hair pinned up and have a headband ready if needed.
This tan solution, DHA, is NOT a dye. The active ingredient works with the amino acids in the top layer of your skin to produce a natural tan exactly like the sun, but without the damage.
Once the tan is set, the formula will not rub off on your clothes or wash off in the pool.
Your tan will fade gradually, just like a real suntan.
The airbrush tan is totally safe and FDA approved.
The solution does not contain UV protection. Always wear sunscreen.
Airbrush tanning gives a golden-brown color. There is no orange discoloration.
Tan usually lasts 1-2 weeks depending on your skin.
Please refrain from showering or rinsing off for at least 5 hours after your tan. An 8-10 hour wait would be best.
Remember to expect a 25-30% wash off during your first shower after tanning. This is normal and will aid in blending any dark areas. We recommend that you wear dark, loose clothing immediately following your tan, until your first shower.
After showering, feel free to apply moisturizer. Hydrated skin retains the tan longer. Avoid lotions that contain alpha hydroxyl.
Keep a towel handy around the house and in the car. This is especially helpful with bare legs, as the bronzer may rub off onto your furniture or car seat
Facts about DHA: DHA is derived from glycerin (vegetable origin) which is a commonly used cosmetic and food ingredient. DHA is not absorbed into the body and poses no possibility of toxicity. We urge you to follow these simple guidelines, as the first few hours following your tan are the most important in determining a satisfactory final result. Every day millions of dead skin cells are sloughed off or worn away from the surface of your skin. In fact every 35-45 days, you have an entirely new epidermis. This is why tans from sunless-or self-tanning lotions will gradually fade-as the dead cells are worn away, so is your tan.
According to research done in American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, (Tangpricha et al, 2004), regular exposure to tanning beds resulted in higher concentrations of Vitamin D in an individual. Deficiency in Vitamin D can result in “osteomalacia in adults and is a frequent source of occult muscle and bone pain.” In addition, the study found “increasing evidence that vitamin D can protect against the development of many chronic diseases, including type 1 diabetes mellitus, hypertension, cardiovascular disease, common cancers, multiple sclerosis, and rheumatoid arthritis.”
